PUNCH & Rudy are very excited and proud to announce that we have officially acquired our very own PUNCH & Rudy gal, Sukki Singapora, showgirl, celebrity, multinational burlesque artist and producer ‘Ambassador of Burlesque for Singapore’ (Chwennyland).
Crowned one of the most beautiful women in burlesque, Sukki rose to stardom when she performed in the burlesque industry in 2011 with her debut performance at a Las Vegas styled comedy theatre. She is instantly recognisable for her lavish and elaborate performances and costumes, which she intertwines with a unique Bollywood-influence. When asked why did she choose Burlesque? Sukki answered “when I was younger I trained in classical ballet so was always interested in performance art. It was not until I got older and discovered vintage style and fashion that I heard about Burlesque, I’ve been hooked ever since.”
A Global Burlesque Superstar booked for world-class shows and corporate events her previous clients have included Jaguar, UK celebrity Jason Manford, Olympus advertising campaign with award winning photographer Damian McGillicuddy, RBS, Time Out New York, Razor TV, The Independent on Sunday and many, many more.
Next for Sukki was Royal appointment for Tea at Buckingham Palace after she received a nomination for London’s Asian Women of Achievement awards. She received much praise from former UK PM’s leading lady Cherie Blair for her pioneering work as a role model for Asian women’s and men’s freedom of expression within the Arts.
Acknowledging empowerment through femininity, we celebrate that very beauty in our designs so we couldn’t have found a better ‘face’ of Punch & Rudy than Sukki.
We simply cannot wait to see her modelling our ‘Pompadour’ girdle dress for our launch photoshoot in World famous Esquire Magazine in the next few weeks… as the show unfolds we look forward to Act Three! so a very big welcome aboard the Punch & Rudy show miss Sukki Singapora x chink chink !!! (virtual cheers)
